Turvey House Wedding Photographer

Sophie and Sam got married at the beautiful Turvey House in Bedfordshire, and it just so turned out that I was lucky enough to be the wedding photographer they chose to capture it.

The Venue

Turvey House is set amongst the stunning Bedfordshire countryside, with some great views of the surrounding parkland, and beautifully maintained gardens. With a sense of flexibility as to what you can do there, the only limit is your own imagination when it comes to having the wedding of your dreams.

Pre-Ceremony

Sam and Sophie got ready with their ushers and bridesmaids respectively, and sometimes you can just tell it’s going to be an awesome day from the very start. In a blur of Champagne flowing, ironing of shirts, dresses being adjusted, hair straightened within an inch of its life, and shoes polished to oblivion, the couple and their bridal party somehow got ready completely on time.

The Ceremony

There was just time for Sophie’s dad to see her in her dress for the first time (a very special moment) before a wedding ceremony so full of laughter and emotion that I genuinely had to stop myself from getting too emotional behind the camera. And then it was on to a fun-filled reception with great food and epic speeches. The day just flew by in a blur of laughter, hugs and good times.

Epic Dancefloor and Beautiful Decor

Sophie and Sam chose their food and decor beautifully, with some lovely tasteful touch touches, but really, it’s all about the impromptu moments of connection between the guests and the couple, and it felt like those were constantly happening wherever I turned.

The weather (always a source of potential anxiety on a British wedding) was stunning throughout the day – in the way that only a springtime wedding can truly allow. Sometimes the dog days of summer can be so hot that it’s hard to do anything, but this warm late-May wedding day had energy and fun in abundance.
