Your wedding should be personal, effortless, and unmistakably yours—and your photos should reflect that. Let’s work together to create something truly unforgettable.

London As a Wedding Destination.
London’s wedding scene is just as diverse, offering everything from elegant, high-end ceremonies to more bold, unconventional celebrations that reflect a couple’s individuality.
From a creative wedding photographer’s perspective, the venue plays a huge role in shaping the atmosphere and aesthetic of the day. It’s one of the most defining elements, influencing the energy, style, and storytelling of your wedding photography. Whether you envision a grand ballroom, an industrial warehouse, or a quirky urban space, your choice of venue can set the tone for unforgettable imagery.
With that in mind, London offers an endless array of incredible spaces to say ‘I do.’ Here’s my top five list of creative wedding venues in London, perfect for couples looking for a setting that’s as unique as their love story.
- The Asylum Chapel, Peckham. Probably the iconic alternative London wedding venue. If you’d like to see a wedding I’ve worked on at The Asylum, then click here. You can find The Asylum here: Caroline Gardens, Asylum Road, London, SE15 2SQ.
- MC Motors, Dalston. MC Motors has to be seen to be believed – one of the most characterful venues you could choose for your wedding, and has a great flow, as a space. MC Motors’ address is: 28 Miller’s Ave, London E8 2DS.
- Wilton’s Music Hall, Whitechapel. An actual, still functional music hall with heritage to die for, as well as a unique vibe and atmosphere that is sure to give your day the unique sense of occasion it deserves! Wilton’s is between Wapping and Whitechapel: 1 Graces Alley, London E1 8JB.
- The Barbican Centre, The City. Brutalist architecture is finally undergoing a long overdue reappraisal, and The Barbican Centre is probably the quintessential brutalist building. I’m a big fan of it and think it makes a stunning and cinematic setting for a wedding with its own identity. The Barbican’s address? Silk St, Barbican, London EC2Y 8DS.
- Sunbeam Studios, Kensington. A beautiful space that is drenched in touches that scream ‘old world glamour’ and yet, if you check out the weddings that people have had there, there’s remarkable scope to transform the space and make it your own. In summer, the light is insanely plentiful – it’s clear where it gets its name! Sunbeam Studios is located here: Ladbroke Hall, 79 Barlby Rd, London W10 6AZ.
What Is London Creative Wedding Photography?
Well, that’s the big question, isn’t it? To me, creativity in wedding photography isn’t just about bold colours or unconventional styling (though it absolutely can be). It’s more about a mindset—a way of doing things differently, staying true to who you are, and not feeling pressured to follow tradition just for the sake of it. It’s about capturing moments in a way that feels unique, expressive, and personal.
It’s no surprise that so many weddings with a distinctive, artistic feel take place right here in London. This city thrives on individuality, and as a creative wedding photographer, I love working with couples who embrace that same spirit. When I get to document weddings that break the mould, it feels like finding my creative home.
The Bottom Line?
Creative wedding photography is about telling your story in a way that feels real, meaningful, and completely you. It’s about capturing the moments that matter—with heart, soul, and a fresh perspective. No stiff poses, no forced smiles—just honest, beautiful photography that enhances your memories rather than forcing them into a traditional box.
