MC Motors Wedding Photography

MC Motors is Dalston’s industrial treasure — a vast warehouse of exposed brick, vintage cars, reclaimed furniture and skylights pouring daylight over it all. Every metre of the place is a ready-made backdrop, which is exactly why couples who want something different end up here.

The skylights are the secret weapon — soft, even daylight all day long, and then the space turns moody and magical after dark. I let the venue’s character do the talking and your people do the rest: real laughter against real brick, not a single forced pose. This is documentary photography heaven.

The History of MC Motors

MC Motors is a renowned wedding venue located in the heart of Dalston, London. The history of this unique event space dates back to the Victorian era. Originally, it was a private industrial warehouse complex, used for manufacturing purposes. As the 20th century ushered in industrial decline, the complex was left abandoned, silently preserving its original architectural charm. It wasn’t until the early 21st century, that it was discovered and brought back to life by its current proprietors Castle Gibson. Recognising the potential of its raw industrial aesthetics, they decided to transform it into an event space. Intriguingly, inside, the venue reveals a nostalgic set evocative of a movie, featuring a labyrinth of rooms filled with vintage memorabilia. Over the years, MC Motors has gracefully aged, enhancing its perpetually alluring, vintage charm. Its atmospheric allure and characterful decor make it a unique choice for couples seeking an unconventional wedding backdrop, contributing to its established reputation as one of London’s sought-after wedding venues. The venue’s rich history and vintage romance continue to enchant visitors from around the world.

FAQs

What makes MC Motors good for wedding photography?

The combination of skylit natural light, raw brick textures and vintage props means every corner photographs beautifully. You could stand still and turn in a circle and have five completely different backdrops.

Can we use the vintage cars in our wedding photos?

The cars and props are part of the venue’s character and make fantastic, playful portrait settings. I’ll work them in naturally — leaning on a bonnet beats a stiff line-up every time.

How does MC Motors work for evening receptions?

After dark the space turns intimate and atmospheric, with warm lighting against the brick. I shoot with fast lenses so the evening keeps its mood in your photos — party as it felt, not flattened by flash.
