By boat — a short, memorable crossing from the Kingston or Surbiton riverside. It sets the tone for the whole day, and those arrivals make some of my favourite candid photographs of any wedding.

What are the best times for wedding portraits on the island?

Golden hour over the Thames is unbeatable — the river catches the light and the willows glow. I’ll usually steal you for ten minutes as the sun drops; your guests barely notice you’ve gone.

What happens if it rains on our island wedding?

The Marquee and indoor spaces keep everything dry and beautiful, and river light on an overcast day is soft and flattering. Some of my favourite island weddings have had dramatic skies — rain never ruins the photos here.
