MKII Wedding Photography
MKII hides behind a modest Clapton brick exterior and opens into something special — high ceilings, red brick walls, exposed steel and huge windows flooding the space with light. Once a furniture factory, it now hosts weddings with a raw, intimate energy that photographs beautifully.
Big windows mean honest light, and honest light means honest photos. I’ll catch your day as it unfolds against that lovely industrial backdrop — the nerves, the joy, the dancefloor chaos — without directing any of it. A few minutes by those windows gives us portraits that feel effortless because they are.

The History of MKII
MKII is a notable wedding venue nestled in the heart of Clapton, London. Behind its simplistic brick exterior lies a rich history dating back to 1893. Originally a furniture factory, this venue underwent several transformations, serving as a war relief office during WW1 and a warehouse thereafter, before finding its identity as a unique event space. In 2010, visionary designer Max Kolombos took over the property – the ‘MKII’ comes from his initials and the distinction of it being his second project. Inspired by its historical charm, Max preserved original features like oak beamed ceilings and red brick walls. The main hall of MKII, introduced in 2012, is now recognised for its large arch windows and uninterrupted floor space which offers endless décor possibilities. Exceptional — the extensive windows keep the space bright and flattering through the day. Natural-light photography here looks clean and true to life, and the brick and steel add character to every frame.

The open-plan layout adapts to your guest list and layout, from ceremony through to dancing. Its flexibility means your day flows in one space, and I photograph that flow without anything feeling disjointed.
